For Tommy Freese, sports cards didn’t begin with Lyons Cards. They have been part of his life for years.
A lifelong collector and passionate sports fan, Tommy developed his knowledge through collecting, buying, selling and breaking cards, including previous experience with Stone Cold Breaks. He brings a strong understanding of modern football cards, products, players, parallels and the live-breaking environment, along with the instincts that come from actually participating in the hobby.

How Tom met him
Tommy’s path to Lyons Cards started exactly where you might expect: over sports cards. Tom Lyons originally met Tommy while purchasing cards from him. What began as a transaction quickly became something more interesting.
Tom was struck by Tommy’s depth of hobby knowledge, but also by his personality. Tommy could talk intelligently about cards, players and products without making the hobby feel intimidating. He was knowledgeable, personable, genuine and easy to engage with. When Lyons Cards later began evaluating potential live-show hosts, Tommy was an obvious person to bring into the process. Then he met Connor Lyons on camera.

During the Lyons Cards host auditions, Connor and Tommy quickly demonstrated something that is difficult to manufacture: natural chemistry. Their strengths were different, but complementary.
Tommy is the pacesetter. He keeps the break moving, watches the room, reacts to the chat, builds anticipation and maintains the energy of the show. Connor is the player-and-card knowledge specialist. His unusually deep recall of players, colleges, rookies and sports history gives Tommy someone to tee up throughout the break.

Why he fits
What ultimately made Tommy a fit for Lyons Cards wasn’t simply his ability to host. He’s a collector. He understands why someone gets excited about a rookie, why a particular parallel matters, why a huge hit changes the energy of a room and why collectors remember the experience surrounding a card almost as much as the card itself.
That collector-first perspective shapes the way Tommy approaches every show.

Today, he works alongside Connor as one of the primary faces of Lyons Cards Live, combining hobby knowledge, personality and live-commerce experience to make breaks faster, more informative and more entertaining.
